Road transfers route
Windhoek → Swakopmund (via B2 / Usakos)
Four and a half hours of tar through the desert’s crust — the easiest inter-city drive.
- Self-drive, Intercape/Ekundjo coach, shuttle vans
- 4.5 h
- Fuel ≈ US$40–50 · coach ≈ US$20–30
The B2 is Namibia’s best road: Windhoek to the coast via Karibib and Usakos, dropping through the Namib’s gravel-transition belt with desert-adapted wildlife spotting (ostrich, springbok, mountain zebra near the Erongo foothills). Intercape and local coaches run it daily for the car-less, and the drive pairs naturally with Walvis Bay’s lagoon on arrival.
