The route south passes Huye (Butare — the ethnographic museum and national university town make a fine coffee stop), climbs through Nyamagabe, then winds along the forest escarpment to Uwinka. Public buses to Rusizi/Cyangugu drop at the park gates; private transfers wait at viewpoints. Combine with a night at Gisakura tea estate for canopy-walk mornings.
